China now has been reporting a decline in Corona Virus cases, raising hopes that the country might soon be able to win over and help others too. The world figure, at the time of writing this news, stood at 860,746 confirmed cases and expects a steep rise in the coming week.
While these cases are that of patients that are already showing symptoms, China, on Wednesday started reporting the asymptomatic cases as well. Until now, such cases were kept classified. These cases have not been included in the official data yet, and sources claim that the number could be well above 40,000.
The reports are being generated to better monitor the individuals who are carrying the infection but are unaware of it due to lack of telltale signs. Once the country ends the lock-down, these carriers will move around without knowing the same and might lead to the emergence of new, fresh cases. Better monitoring at this stage will help avoid the recurrence.
While it is not yet established as to how infectious such asymptomatic cases are, the Government doesn’t want to take chances any more. The National Health Commission will soon aggregate the data coming in from different provinces and release the national data once done. These individuals will be put under the 14 days quarantine period as suggested by health officials.
Covid-19 cases, which were first reported in the Wuhan province of China, have already claimed over 3000 lives in China. The US has reported 1.89 lakh cases, and Italy 1.05 lakh so far.
