The Turning Point
Immediately after foreseeing the future, Mr. Bhandari dropped the idea of studying Jute Technology and joined a company called Sujata Electronics for their Kolkata branch as a sales executive and worked there for five years till 1990. His mind was always looking for better opportunities and future scopes of the technology. Hence, in 1991, Mr. Bhandari felt that the eastern India needs a quality IT distribution house from where he can serve all major local IT dealers/resellers who require a distribution house with a varied product range along with strong and efficient service and replacement support system for which he has opened a small proprietorship company called Supermatic Computer.
During that time, IT import rules were also liberalized and to bring world class technology product in India and it is the time when Mr. V. K. Bhandari founded Supertron Electronics in the year 1993 as a distributor and import company along with only three members under him and a capital of three lakhs rupees only.
Mr. Bhandari’s extraordinary contribution and immense hard work has led the company from a mere startup to a leading IT company in India. Under his guidance, Supertron is now established itself as a company amongst top five national IT hardware distribution house with more than 1400 employees and 2800 crores turnover with 34 branches and 19 satellite offices across Pan India. Now, the founder of this company is known for his very strong relationship with all IT & other fraternity of India and abroad.

Mr. Bhandari is not just a leader or an entrepreneur. He is a social worker who dedicates his life for the underprivileged people of the society. To extend the support to all segments of underprivileged through various NGOs and without any bias on age, gender, caste, creed and religion of beneficiaries, he has created Supertron Foundation, a division of SEPL, in the year 2014. It has now joined hands with various NGOs in and around West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Nasik, and presently, the foundation has opened 10 Computer Empowerment Centre for underprivileged children around Kolkata.
