Torrent Pharmaceuticals, headquartered in Ahmedabad is set to acquire cosmetic dermatology company Curatio Healthcare for ₹ 2,000 Crore. With the signing of the definitive agreement, Torrent Pharma surged from the 21st position to an impressive tenth spot in the dermatology segment of the Indian domestic market.
The definite agreement includes the payment schedule of ₹ 115 crores in cash on the date of signing and cash equivalents in the newly acquired business amounting to ₹1,885 crore enterprise value, respectively.
Aman Mehta, the director, informed that “The acquisition offers Torrent the opportunity to enhance its presence in dermatology with a differentiated portfolio and is a strong strategic fit. Curatio has built a commendable set of high market share brands in cosmetic and pediatric dermatology that we look forward to adding to our product offerings.”
Curatio Healthcare has a significant presence in the cosmetic dermatology sector with a strong portfolio of 50 brands in India. Spoo, B4 Nappi, Permite, Atogla, and Tedibar are some of the leading brands from the Curatio portfolio, which rank among the top five brands in the market. These major brands form approximately 75% of the total revenue.
