On Tuesday, Torrent Gas said that it will be investing Rs. 8000 crore in the coming five years to expand its city gas operations. By March 2023, it has a target to set up 500 CNG dispensing pumps.
At a virtual event, Jinal Mehta, Director of Torrent Gas said that they have set up 100 CNG pumps within 18 months of its operations. Mehta said, “Torrent Gas intends to make a total investment of Rs. 8000 crore over the next 5 years towards the creation of CGD infrastructure in the country, of which Rs. 1050 has already been invested.”
Jinal Mehta also confirmed that they are now working towards nearing their goal of setting up 200 stations by March 2021. Inspite of the pandemic the company has set up 100 stations in a short period of time. The company expects to reach its goal by March 2023.
