Sundar Pichai and Satya Nadella, the CEOs of Google and Microsoft, respectively have pledged that they will support India during ongoing battle with the coronavirus.
Pichai tweeted that Google will provide financial aid of Rs 135 crore to UNICEF and the non-profit organization, Give India. This fund will help in purchasing medical supplies supporting high-risk communities, and in spreading critical information about the deadly virus.
The Google and Alphabet CEO said that he is devastated to see the worsening condition of Covid in India. The heartbroken Microsoft chief also expressed his grief and extended his support to India through social media.
Nadella said that he is heartbroken by the present situation in India. However, he is grateful that the US government is taking necessary steps to help. He further added that Microsoft will put in its best efforts, technology, and resources, to provide relief efforts and assist in the purchase of critical oxygen concentration devices.
Covid cases are gradually increasing in India at a rapid pace. Currently, active cases in the country are 28, 13,658. The United States has also pledged that it will immediately send raw materials for vaccines, protective gear, and medical equipment to India so that it can deal with this massive surge in infections. Sources say that Germany and the European Union will also send oxygen and medical aid at the earliest.
