With the need to protect the skin and for enhancing personality and beauty, people use cosmetics and personal care products. However, proper guidance and care need to be taken before buying and using these products as, at times, they could be harmful.
With this understanding of quality, modern customers’ preference for natural products has increased. Products made with natural ingredients are beneficial for the skin and have no harmful side effects.
On understanding the concern of customers everywhere, Shivangi Jain, an innovative and futuristic entrepreneur, started her business venture of manufacturing natural and healthy personal care products. Please tell us about the saga of Sharon Beauty since its inception.
Once in their life, each human longs to begin something of their own, making it a triumph. Pondering beginning and taking care of my own business was frightening, most definitely so, and because of that, with the progression of time and feeling of dread toward fizzling, this fantasy assumed a lower priority.
Being from a PR and communications foundation, I got several chances to work with various brands, and there my fantasy about sending off something of my own remerged once more a couple of months after the fact I left my office as a reputation analyst and began investigating and exploring more into skincare as I’ve forever been enthusiastic about it, which genuinely I got from my mother. So, with her experience and ideas and reliable help from my companions, I chose to send off Sharon Beauty; though I have just started, the journey will be bigger as I progress.
What was your inspiration behind venturing into the business arena?
My interest in skincare comes naturally from being concerned about my sensitive skin (which I inherited from my mother). As I grew older, my interests increased, and so did my knowledge regarding skin care. At the point when I began picturing my concept of beginning Sharon Beauty, my principal objective was to bring something exceptional yet gainful to individuals who utilize our products. I needed to give skin-friendly and supporting products.
What were the initial challenges that you had to surmount to ensure Sharon Beauty’s success rate in becoming a popular and recognized business?
Trials and errors in making my formulation, finding the right ingredients, managing the labeling and branding, and settings up the website, all this was very new to me, and it was indeed challenging to do it for the first time. And after launching, gaining attraction, learning the right usage of social media, and making content that is interesting and informative – the journey has been challenging. Still, at the same time, I have learned a great deal being here.

As an experienced professional, what would you like to advise the budding aspirants willing to enter the business world?
The business world is full of challenges, especially for a women entrepreneur, but with each challenge comes an equal amount of opportunity and if one believes in their product, is ready to fight it out, and has the patience – I feel the sky is the limit. Also, it is very important for the aspirant to believe in their product; till the time you don’t believe in your product, you will not be able to do justice to the masses, and that would mean being clandestine, which as an aspirant one should not be.
How do you envision Sharon Beauty’s operations with the emerging technologies and automated tools that are revolutionizing the business world by enabling innovations?
The benefits of automated operations are higher productivity, reliability, availability, increased performance, and reduced operating costs. Moving to lights-out operations yields a good return on investment. One of the basic objectives of any form of technology is efficiency. Like many technologies cutting across industries, automation can increase efficiency exponentially by cutting time to do mundane tasks at a faster rate. However, this does not mean automation can increase all types of productivity.
The technology works best when it is deployed for tedious and repetitive tasks. While artificial intelligence has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years, it is yet to become a substitute for the human brain. There are many tasks or operations in a small business that still require human intervention, both cognitive and physical, in case of complex activities.
Automation can boost productivity for small businesses by helping them take care of some of the front-loaded processes that normally would take time to do. Software programs or algorithms eliminate the scope of human error. Regardless of how deft or diligent a person is, there is always some chance of erring, and this requires additional effort in the form of review to be rectified. Because of this, many errors go unnoticed until they cause problems. Such problems can be averted if automation is deployed.
Whole processes can become simpler, too. Small businesses can switch to accounting software and other types of applications for efficiency, productivity, and accuracy. Every business is made up of a bunch of moving parts, with different teams working on different tasks and employees almost always wearing several different hats and juggling multiple responsibilities all at once. Therefore, it’s so easy for projects — even important ones — to get lost in the shuffle a little.
Automation tools streamline communication, keep everyone on the same page, provide references to past work and approaches, and can make goal setting and deadlines effortless and automatic. Tracking progress and getting a better feel for where resources can be best allocated becomes a whole lot easier with automation, too. Having said that, no one can take away the human touch; I Guess the marriage of both is what we need.
What are your views on women breaking boundaries in the modern world?
In recent years, India has experienced a rapid increase in the number of new firms which are women-owned. In a predominantly male-dominated world, women entrepreneurs and their expanding presence in India are breaking boundaries and making their way into the commercial sphere, and I think there is a need to encourage the participation of younger minds so that they explore their entrepreneurial skills to become successful businesswomen. Women-led businesses and start-ups are paving the path to eliminating the gap between men and women, which has long existed. More women in leadership positions will undoubtedly set an example for future generations, particularly for those who want to establish small and medium enterprises but lack the requisite motivation and vision.
