Please tell us about the saga of Vector Solutions since its inception.
The company, ‘Vector Solutions (India) Pvt Ltd,’ based in Chennai, was initially started as a dealership firm in the year 2013 with three employees in a residential apartment with no proper infrastructure or warehouse. Our product range comprises power factor correction components, harmonics solution products, metering solutions with energy management systems, product servicing, and many more in the list. Our offered ranges are highly demanded in the market because of their durability and sustainability.
For the first two years, the company went through losses due to financial incompetency and strictly limited resources. There was a situation when the company’s future had no ray of hope as the resources totally dried up.
What was your inspiration behind venturing into the business arena?
To support our founder and my father, R.C. Sairam Suresh, I jumped in to support the company after my college hours when I was 19.  I joined as a Business Development Executive to deal with basic accounts and client follow-ups.
Struggling to cross the tough time, we managed to get some permanent clients in Chennai through collective efforts, and the dealership business was stabilized to surviving extent. With stunted growth as a dealership firm, our company started to look for more opportunities to expand its verticals as the turnover was just below Four lakhs which were truly not sufficient to hire more manpower or to expand its scope.
What were the initial challenges that you had to surmount to ensure Vector Solutions’ success rate in becoming a popular and recognized business?
With loans and personal savings, the company shifted its base from a one-bedroom residential apartment to a proper industrial atmosphere. It started its semi-manufacturing setup with engineers hired on a contract basis as they were not able to hire them on a permanent scale due to the financial crunch. With strenuous efforts, Vector Solutions managed to find some potential clients who trusted them with basic panel manufacturing projects. On successfully completing it, our company managed to take up Government projects and started to work for Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Indian Railways, The Tamil Nadu Press Limited, BHEL, etc.
