With people’s heightened safety and security concerns, demand for video surveillance is also escalating. Be it home, office, public and private places, due to increased threats from unscrupulous elements and the high frequency of unfortunate incidents happening, prevention remains the best option rather than cure.

Yet, many of the vulnerable individual and professional entities rely on traditional methods and even on luck instead of going for costly tech solutions like biometric, electronic and CCTV security systems and video surveillance, Networking, Fire and Safety alarms, IP Sensors, Power Supply, and power backup solutions. The primary reason for their resistance is the premium charged by unreliable services and solutions providing companies that sell duplicate-faulty-cheap products instead of giving quality and frustrating services disguised in marketing gimmicks, promising jargon, and fake brandings.

Fighting these companies and brightening the scenario with its trustworthy credentials and public and private institutional reliance, SAINICON Security Systems is ensuring excellence in all types of surveillance and safety services and solutions. SAINICON is already serving industry heavyweights like IRCTC, Indian Army, J&K Police, Indian Air Force, DD National, BSF, ATUL, AIR India, ITDC Ltd, etc.

Dupesh Saini, the Founder and CEO, says that Sainicon Security Systems was set up in 2012 to protect the lives and property of people of the Jammu Region with the help of…

A Leadership of Engineering Excellence

Dupesh is a BE Electrical from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur. He has worked with brands like Aditya Birla (as a Sales Engineer in Export Marketing, handling Tenders for Electrical Utilities of the Middle East and Africa, Central Asia, among others) and Emerson (where he managed sales of UPS in 30kVA and above segment). He has also worked as a Consultant in Energy Sector with Feedback Infra. During his professional career, he has served in India and Indonesia through 2011.

He got exposure to Security Systems while working for elkosta security systems as a Sales Engineer based in Mumbai in 2007.

Major Projects:

Entrance Control: Where his first major project was the Installation of Crash Rated Automated Sliding Gates, Bollards, and Tire Killers for the Chairman’s Office of Atomic Energy Commission, in the gateway of India, Mumbai.

Video Surveillance: Installation of 32 Cameras in perimeter protection of L&T Powai.

Dupesh’s inspiration behind venturing into the video surveillance niche was greatly boosted while working on these projects. Dupesh reveals, “After leaving a lucrative offer from a multinational Infrastructure projects company for Africa, I came back to my hometown Jammu.” Jammu and Kashmir being the base for Defense forces, it was necessary to equip them with the latest Video Surveillance technologies to plug the infiltration routes of Militants and Drug dealers. “So I started working in the field of Video Surveillance offering Low Cost, Technology solutions,” informs Dupesh.

A Safety Shield Spanning Lifetimes

Elaborating on the immersive benefits of the services/solutions that SAINICON provides to its clients, Dupesh conveys that they work on the principle of ‘Low cost of Ownership,’ instead of focusing on big brands and expensive products. This gives a long-term outlook to a customer site. Each location has its own security needs. The customer gets a product with a long-life span and good support.

When a customer tells us precisely about their security concerns, we begin our planning to address all of their specific concerns by focusing on their needs,” states Dupesh. Similarly, he adds that since everyone’s time is valuable, their team gets back to the customer and delivers all the promised products, instalments, services, and solutions in a time-bound manner.

“In Jammu and Kashmir, we serve in the areas like Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar, while in Jammu, we serve in the city and other towns like Akhnoor, Jaurian, RS Pura, Arnia, Bishnah, Ramgarh, Bari Brahmana, Katra, Reasi, Kud among others,” mentions Dupesh.

Functional Expertise to Encounter Challenges

Revealing the many USPs of the brand SAINICON that highlights it as a reliable name in the security surveillance niche, Dupesh says that they believe in solution selling instead of box selling. “We focus on customer needs while offering our products and services. Our staff has functional expertise to handle all kinds of technical as well commercial issues,” he ensures that they do everything to get things done in time, saving valuable money for all the stakeholders.

Dupesh says they faced and successfully encountered many challenges in the past: “We used to depend on only a single manufacturer for supply and service. It became a challenge for us at times.” Further, they lost some opportunities due to financial issues. Moreover, Distributors and Manufacturers took advantage of SAINICON’s presence in this part of the market.

Presently, issues like online marketplace competition and manufacturer’s monopoly – once their product is introduced to the customer are major concerns. Also, almost all the manufacturers are importing from China and selling the same as Made in India products. Lastly, the lack of spares for the repair of Surveillance products is a big issue. “We are creating awareness amongst our customers to fight back these cheating companies,” says Dupesh.

Tech Analytical Intel

Being an experienced leader, while sharing his opinion on how video surveillance systems are crucial today and what advancements can be expected in the future, Dupesh believes that Video Surveillance should be made compulsory by introducing bylaws by Municipalities or Governments. Video Surveillance can not only help us protect our homes and streets, but it can also help to secure our Forests, Borders, and Natural resources. A lot of efforts are being made to manufacture products in India. Shortly, we will definitely have manufacturing excellence in Video Surveillance Field.

In addition to the existing technologies, a lot of Analytics based Video Surveillance Solutions are soon going to hit the markets. “We will also be focusing on it a lot,” promises Dupesh.

Dupesh’s advice to aspirants willing to venture into the field of video surveillance security and services is wise. He says, “You should have the basic know-how and other technical expertise. Service experts are required 24/7. Tie-ups with experienced dealers and distributors and desire to learn more.”

Dupesh’s future plans for SAINICON include the assembly of HD Dome and Bullet-type CCTV Cameras, which they began two years ago and are looking forward to expanding with the latest technologies. “We are also looking forward to assembly/manufacture of components for the surveillance systems in due course,” concludes Dupesh.

Impact of Emerging Technologies on Video Surveillance Systems

Analytics: Many surveillance systems have already started differentiating between different types of motions and reporting only what is relevant for the end user. Human Detection and Vehicle detection is one technology that has taken video analytics to the next level.

Active Alerts: Video Surveillance is no longer a passive security system. It has started giving you the option to get alerts on your mobile for motion detection or other analytics like face detection.
