A day after the highly anticipated consecration ceremony, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended by numerous politicians and celebrities, the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was opened to the public this morning.
Huge throngs were spotted in front of the temple before it opened. As early as 3 am, devotees started congregating at the shrine in considerable numbers. The gates will reopen from 2 pm until 7 pm. The public was allowed access from 7 am to 11:30 am.
Thousands of followers, a mix of residents and visitors from outside the state, flocked to the Ram Temple gates, enduring the cold of winter in an attempt to be the first to enter the shrine.
Yesterday, PM Modi performed the ‘pran pratishtha’ procedures, bending down in front of the Ram Lalla statue. Dignitaries such as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor of Uttar Pradesh Anandiben Patel, and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat were present during the ceremony.
“The extraordinary moment of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla’s life in Ayodhya Dham is going to leave everyone emotional,” tweeted Prime Minister Modi, expressing his sentiments. Being a member of this beautiful program gives me immense joy. “Jai Siya Ram!”
After the ceremony, PM Modi spoke to an audience of about 8,000 people that included celebrities from a variety of disciplines, people connected to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, and seers. Additionally, the Prime Minister went to the Kuber Tila and spoke with the laborers building the temple.
