On April 19, Procter & Gamble India named LV Vaidyanathan, who oversees the company’s Indonesia operations, as its new CEO. According to the FMCG giant, he succeeds Madhusudan Gopalan, who will take on a new role at the parent firm.
“LV Vaidyanathan will succeed Madhusudan Gopalan, who has offered his resignation as managing director of the company on June 30, 2022, to take on an important leadership role within P&G as senior vice president – grooming and oral care, P&G Japan and Korea,” the company stated in a statement.
From July 1, 2022, Vaidyanathan will be the CEO.
Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care and Gillette India are both publicly traded companies in India.
Vaidyanathan earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology in Nagpur and an MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad.
“Under his guidance, the Indonesian business has converted into a value-add for the parent company and has overtaken a tough competitor in the market by closing the share gap in the last four years,” P&G India said.
