Investment of ₹300 Cr was announced by Bajaj Auto Limited for their new venture in Electric Vehicle (EV) plant. According to the reports, Bajaj is likely to set up the brand-new manufacturing plant in Karudi, Pune. The automobile company’s new investment is capable of production of 500,000 EVs in a year.
Bajaj claim’s that setting up the plant in Akurdi, Pune will be extremely beneficial as it is the home of Bajaj’s original Chetak scooter factory. Bajaj in its report said that it will deploy cutting-edge robotic and automated technology in its manufacturing system for the introduction of EVs in the market.
Bajaj’s new facility will handle different sectors from logistics, material handling, assembly, painting, fabrication and even quality assurance. Everything will be automated and the first EV from their new unit is likely to roll out by June 2022.
