American hospitality major Marriott International has signed an agreement with local partner BeeKay Group to launch five new hotels in Jharkhand and West Bengal.
“Across South Asia, Marriott has 141 hotels. We have 131 operating hotels with over 26,000 rooms. In terms of the number of rooms, we are the largest. We have another 88 hotels in the pipeline across South Asia.
In India, we have 67 hotels under development. We are on our way to getting past 200 hotels here by 2025. However, this agreement is likely to add about 700 rooms to Marriott International’s existing portfolio of approximately 26,000 rooms in the country,” expressed Rajiv Menon, President of Marriot, Asia Pacific.
At this launch, the proposed openings also involved Courtyard by Marriott Asansol, Fairfield by Marriott Maithon, Fairfield by Marriott Ranchi, and Fairfield by Marriott Deoghar.
