The first anniversary of the compact crossover proves to be the perfect occasion for introducing the updated KUV, brochures of which has been leaked online.
Firstly, as speculated, the KUV will receive a dual-tone paint scheme which is specified in the brochure images. The flamboyant red and dazzling silver body can be topped with a black metallic roof. The wheels are upgraded from 14-inch to 15-inch as standard on the K8 variant, whereas the 14-inch on the K6 and K6+ variants gets a new design. The customers will also be able to opt for four accessorise kit, details of which will be revealed soon.
The KUV100 was facing a reproval for poor fuel efficiency, Mahindra might look into the matter with the update so as to make the car consume less fuel. It is reported that the KUV’s air-conditioning unit will be tweaked, the engine mapping will be revised and the engine mounting would be reworked to improve the stubby car further. The automatic variant for the KUV100 is still on the cards, but apparently won’t be a part of this anniversary edition.
The update for the KUV100 comes right after the launch of the Maruti Suzuki’s Ignis, its prime competitor. The KUV100 witnessed amazing sales figures since its launch, but it dwindled down to its lowest in the past few months. Mahindra will also try and augment the decreasing demand of KUV100 with multiple promotional initiatives. Mahindra was feeling the heat from the competitions already. With the launch of Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the newly-launched Tata Hexa, Mahindra is likely to introduce new variants of its vehicles to keep its product lineup fresh in the market strife.
