In an exclusive Interview with Insight Success, Avinash Mane – Commercial Head – South Asia – Lenzing Group gives an insight of the company along side talking about the industry.
IS: Tell us about the services you provide through your venture.
Avinash: Lenzing has witnessed an exciting journey over decades now. We can proudly say that we are one of the largest wood based cellulose fiber manufacturers known globally. We are known for our sustainable innovations of quality fibers providing lifestyle solutions across different segments. Our specialty fibres brands like TENCELâ„¢ and LENZINGâ„¢ ECOVEROâ„¢ are used among a diverse range of brands across different sectors like denim, active wear, intimate wear, etc. Our nonwoven fibres brand-VEOCELâ„¢ is known for its outstanding liquid management qualities making it an essential in the nonwovens industry. The LENZINGâ„¢ Industrial range of products caters to a niche industries like Fire retardant products, automotive, agribusiness, etc. Our products are certified by reputed 3rd parties for quality assurance and the traceability of the origin of the product. The fact that all our products are bio-degradable acts as a decisive factor for brands and consumers.
IS: What have been big developments for the company in India over the last six months?
Avinash: Over the recent years, along with our flagship brand TENCELâ„¢, the world’s first sustainable viscose – LENZINGâ„¢ ECOVEROâ„¢ has been gaining attraction among brands and retailers. Apart from our collaborations with reputed fashion designers such as Anita Dongre and Rajesh Pratap Singh, we have been looking at partnerships with brands which share our vision to build dialogues on sustainability and fashion. With regards to the developments in the Indian market, we are successfully developing effective and transparent local supply chain solutions for our partners.Â
IS: Please share some success stories, awards and accolades that the company has received.
Avinash: The company has been performing well overall both in the Indian market and across the globe. Despite the challenges faced in the textile sector we have achieved a great year. In terms of business, we just had 4th best year in our history. The products have been receiving a lot of accolades globally. VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibres won the Idea Raw Material Achievement Award for best new fibre/raw material introduction presented by INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry. TENCEL™ and LENZING™ ECOVERO™ are witnessing great attraction by brands and are slowly converting in successful consumer stories.
IS: How will you describe your company in one word?
Avinash: Pioneer – we have been leading this industry globally in innovation, quality and holistic solutions where others have followed suit.
IS: What is the current industry scenario from your perspective?
Avinash: The current industry scenario has been challenging but we have still been able to deliver better value in terms of product performance, comfort and quality.
There is a strong shift towards sustainable fashion where we see ourselves as supporting this movement for good.
IS: Brief us about the future of the company or the goal it has set to mark its exceptionality in future.
Avinash: Our main goal is to provide sustainable lifestyle solutions to consumers and sensitize them on why sustainable and ethical fashion is need of the hour. This being done through our tie-ups with fashion brands. At the same time we are ensuring that there is a robust supply chain available for the brands to procure the best products.
