K Krithivasan will take over as TCS MD and CEO after Rajesh Gopinathan resigns

Gopinathan has been with the company for 22 years and served as CEO for six of those years.

According to a statement released by the IT services provider, Rajesh Gopinathan, TCS Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has submitted his resignation.

In addition, K Krithivasan was named the IT giant’s new designated CEO. He has been with the company since 1989 and works as President and Global Head of the Banking, Financial Services.

During his lengthy tenure at TCS, the company noted this. He had held various leadership positions in sales, extensive program management, delivery, and customer relationship management.

In the meantime, Gopinathan is leaving TCS after 22 years, six of which he spent as MD & CEO. He will continue to work for the company until September 2023. TCS stated, “Mr. Gopinathan will continue to provide transitional support and assistance to his successor until September 2023.”

K Krithivasan will be promoted to CEO in the upcoming fiscal year after passing through a transition phase.

He added that he is “harboring a few ideas” he wants to do next and has decided that the end of FY23 is a great time to take a break and pursue those interests.
