According to an official document, the Union Home Ministry has granted security clearance to Jet Airways, which plans to resume commercial flying operations in the coming months. The Jalan-Kalrock Consortium now promotes jet Airways. Naresh Goyal owned the airline in its previous incarnation, and the last flight occurred on April 17, 2019.
Last Thursday, the airline flew a test flight to and from Hyderabad International Airport in order to get an air operator certificate. The civil aviation ministry informed the airline on May 6 that the Union home ministry had granted the airline security clearance.
According to the letter, it is “ordered to refer to your application… to convey security approval for change in shareholding pattern of the company/firm, for scheduled operator permit, based on security clearance received from the Ministry of Home Affairs,” which PTI obtained.
On Thursday, the test flight was meant to demonstrate to aviation regulator DGCA that the aircraft and its components are in good working order.
