Everyone’s talking about how to stay on the top of technology trends, but is they successful in adopting ways that instantaneously make them a victor? Testing and QA maintain the continuous delivery, quality, and efficiency of a software development process. It is unfortunate that there are still many IT companies that give up on Automation testing only due to time and money constraints. But, these are just excuses! There are frequent inventive tweaks that can reduce both money and time in the process.
Significantly, poor test strategy, neglected test case generation effort, and delay in testing are other ignored reasons behind failing testing solutions. Though, a company which improves automation testing must have a good product quality, followed by satisfied customer experience, yet overall quality costs are another matter of concern.
To identify future Software & QA Testing risk possibilities along with effective solutions to keep your assets safe and secure, ISHIR is right here for you. In an Interview with Insights Success, Rishi Khanna, CEO of ISHIR, gave some insightful answers emphasizing the impacts made by his firm to take Software & QA Testing assets to a new level.
- Kindly elaborate about your products/services.
QALab, a testing unit of ISHIR, is one of the leading software testing firm with expertise in several testing domains like On Demand Testing, Crowd Source Beta Testing, Automated Testing, Mobile App Testing, Security Testing, Mobile App testing, API Testing and Performance testing.
We have the capability to provide an On-Demand Software testing team within 24 hours of a client’s enquiry. ISHIR QA team has completed over 100s of successful testing engagement projects for our clients.
- About the (CEO/ Founder) & his responsibilities?
Rishi Khanna, CEO of ISHIR, is a business leader with a deep interest in technology and great experience in sales leadership, marketing, risk management and digital marketing. He has helped several clients understand that outsourcing their non-core business processes and functions in the areas of technology can help them focus on their core strengths and achieve their business objectives.
- What are the major challenges or opportunities ISHIR is facing at the moment?
Some of the biggest challenges while managing offshore software testing projects are communication gaps, managing clients’ unrealistic expectations, ambiguous specifications or requirements, and use of automated tools.
With years of experience behind our back, we manage all the above-mentioned challenges with absolute ease. For example, we map a communication plan with all the key stakeholders in the project and open several communication channels so that the project status is visible at any time of the day and from any device. We also use multiple tools to manage client expectations, manage the project (and each task) and ensure that we bridge the gaps between what they expect and what we can deliver early in the project.
We also use the same tools to understand client requirements and nothing is left to anyone’s imagination. With the influx of automated testing tools, there is an increased need for people who are experts to use these tools efficiently. We ensure that we hire and nurture our software testers on the latest and most useful automated testing tools.
- Kindly brief us about the most satisfactory experience with a client. What kind of game-changing services have you provided them?
There are plenty. I would share the experience of working for an insurance company. The client was a leading insurance underwriter that serves more than 10 million households and 20 million policy holders. While software testing was traditionally performed by a combination of their in-house team and external suppliers (that performed development services), over time, the client realized that they needed an independent testing specialist to improve the quality and robustness of their service.
They engaged with QALab as they could perform independently, with a specialist focus, offered a range skills and framework, and gave a huge cost advantage. One of the biggest challenges in the project was to face the reluctance from the client’s internal QA team to transition the testing services. With the dexterousness of the QA team, the team could bridge the gap and pilot testing of their business applications.
Impressed with the results shown by QA Lab testing team, the Insurance Company decided to increase the scope of the project increased over a period involving testing of core and non-core applications. While QA Lab started with a few members team, the team grew considerably and is still testing for numerous business applications.
- What is the most significant thing the ISHIR is working on right now, and how are you making it happen?
With the device fragmentation era, automation testing and ensuring a seamless multi-device app is one of the most critical things that we are focusing on. We have several clients whose bottom line is getting impacted due to mobile app bugs or a mobile app not updated for the latest OS.
Our team of software testers have an in-depth insight into an end-to-end mobile testing process that starts with creation of test cases, user acceptance testing and finally device testing. Our team also ensures that the applications are tested on multiple platforms and devices using established testing tools and processes.
- What are the values and factors that you attribute your success to? Also, if possible suggest one quote which adorns ISHIR very well.
One of key strengths is our people. We attract and retain the best the from the talent from the industry. This is the reason that we have a diverse testing skillset, expertise in several testing tools and multi domain experience. We can even manage large requirements dedicated QA Lab or team extensions.
What are the current trends in the QA & Software Testing?
There’s a lot of focus on agile based testing as it delivers fast-moving and flexible results. We have worked on many projects that require agile based testing where we work closely with the dev team, understand requirements and functionality, remain in sync with code, requirements and product changes, integrate QA into development process, have joint sprint planning sessions, attend daily standups/scrums, document test cases, test throughout the sprint, and perform regression testing.
- What are the future advancements of the company and how the company is prepared for it?
The future of QA belongs to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The traditional QA ways are on their way out. AI algorithms can provide key insights into application stability, predict failure, point out to failure patterns and detect defect hotspots. ISHIR is building machine learning led QA practices that will help to optimize test suite, automatically execute test cases, provide defect analytics, provide complete traceability, and provide customer sentiment analytics. AI and Machine learning can unleash the power of data and drive QA automation and innovation to the next level.
