“The acquisition reaffirms our continuous endeavor to strengthen our strategy of scaling our Agile Digital and cloud-first digital transformation capabilities. This acquisition is key to staying relevant to the digital priorities of our clients and demonstrates our commitment to the salesforce ecosystem,” was stated by Infosys COO Pravin Rao.

Infosys had agreed to pay an amount equal to 250 million to purchase Simplus. This acquisition of a sales force company was a power move that was aimed towards continuing its 2-year strategy of boosting its cloud revenue.

Infosys had bought another salesforce company in 2018, known as Fluido. For the purpose of digital growth, IT companies have been making such acquisitions from the past few years.

According to them, such a strategic move was adopted for systemic growth and digital transformation such as the scaling of digital clouds. This move had elevated their position in the salesforce industry which made it unparalleled. The buying of Simplus was the ultimate global recognition for Infosys.

Simplus had great industry knowledge, solution assets which were inclusive of a vibrant social ecosystem and a broad variety of clientele. Ryan Westwood, CEO & Co-Founder, Simplus, said in his statement that,“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Infosys team. We have viewed this partnership from a culture-first lens from the beginning, and we believe that the alignment of our company values and the preservation of our company DNA will allow us to accelerate growth and together become the strongest and most respected partner in the salesforce ecosystem.”

This deal has been expected to close in on the 4th quarter of fiscal.
