India successfully test-fired the BrahMos surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to news agency ANI, the long-range missile hit its target with perfect accuracy.
Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari and other defence officials attended the extended range missile test fire. They applauded the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on the successful test-firing of the BrahMos missile.

The missile landed in Pakistani territory with minimal damage to property and equipment and no human casualties. Following the incident, India addressed Pakistani officials in a letter and issued a statement expressing its heartfelt remorse for the occurrence.
