The United States and India will work together to install 450 GW of renewable energy by 2030.

“We look forward to collaborating with India in delivering financing, technology, and other aspects required to achieve it,” said John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, on Monday.

India’s installed electricity capacity is now predicted to reach 476 GW by 2021-22, rising to at least 817 GW by 2030.

Mr. Kerry is in India on an official visit from September 12 to 14, where he will meet with ministries and business leaders to “raise global climate commitment and accelerate India’s clean energy transition,” as per a statement from the US State Department.
