On Thursday, 14th July 2022, Hyundai Motor Co. introduced its first electric sedan, Ioniq 6, which will give tough competition to the dominator of the electronic vehicle market Tesla Inc. The company mentioned that this Ioniq 6 will have a driving range of about 610 kilometers (380 miles), which is around 30% more than the Ioniq 5 crossover.
Hyundai, along with its sister company Kia Corp and premium brand Genesis aims to introduce 31 electric models, to secure a projected 12% of the worldwide EV market, through 2030. This launch of Ioniq 6 is a part of that plan.
Hyundai’s sedan will increase its EV range beyond its current crossovers and SUVs for the purpose of competing head-to-head against leading motor companies like Tesla.
