Mobile Technology is playing an intuitive role in transforming the overall scenario of the business world. With each passing day, novel and out-of-the-box features are joining the foray and making smartphone usage fun and seamless. One such feature that has added to the list is ‘Face Unlock’. Let’s dig deeper and find out what’s Google’s take on it with it’s latest Google Pixel 4 launch.
The all-new Google Pixel 4 smartphones do not have a Fingerprint Scanner and rely on a Face Unlock system to enhance its security. For identical twins or friends that look similar, Face Unlock is not the best option to be used when it comes to privacy.
This statement was brought into the limelight by Google. Recently, its support page rolled out an official warning for the Pixel 4 users saying that “Your phone can be unlocked by someone who looks a lot like you, like an identical sibling.”
Even in the high-range smartphones, when used by identical twins, Face ID could fail occasionally. On the other hand, there are various official support pages of technology companies saying that there can be a statistical probability of Face ID failure when it comes to twins and siblings that look similar.
So, there are two different sides of the coin. For people who do not have any identical sibling and think that Face Unlock is the ideal choice to safeguard their Pixel 4, Google says, “Your phone can also be unlocked by someone else if it’s held up to your face, even if your eyes are closed.”
