Technology giant Google unveiled Android Skilling and Certification program which will train and certify millions of students in India to develop apps for android over the next three years. It is available free of cost across University. This will boost Modi’s skill India program by giving skill to 2 million students.
The course will be available to all institutes and Universities of the National Skill Development Corporation of India.
Google also launched its globally recognized Associate Android Developer Certification exam that will help candidates get an Android developer job. After training, candidates can take the certification exam priced at Rs 6,500 per attempt.
At start of the certification program, developers will first have to go through a specially designed instructor-led training program; the in-person training module will be integrated with computer science curricula of universities within this calendar year. The course material will also be available free of cost on NPTEL as part of its online Mobile Computing course.
Google has tied up with training partners like Koenig, Edureka, Simplilearn, Udacity,UpGrad and Manipal Global who will be authorized Android training partners in India to help Google train the trainers and update Android courseware to prepare students for Android certification.
The program looks progressive but it all leads to promoting Android development that is what Google wants, more android developers would mean more applications which will attract more consumers to the mobile platform.
