With people facing hardship across the country due to cash crunch in the wake of the Government’s demonetization move, domestic carrier Jet Airways has offered its customers the facility of amazing payment facilities for booking its flights.
The Mumbai based private airline has tied up with some of the leading banks, including Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HSBC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank to offer EMI payments at the time of bookings.
“India is currently undergoing a digital and financial revolution with young, digital savvy consumers progressively opting to use payment options such as credit cards and EMIs. We are assertive that our guests will take to this solution with enthusiasm, allowing them to adequately plan their expenses when they fly with us,” Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Commercial Officer, Jet Airways said.
The airline said that, from now its mobile App and website would offer attractive EMI payment options at the time of booking for India issued credit card holders of HSBC Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IndusInd Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
The customers of the credit card holders of these banks will have the facility to avail attractive options of making payments in EMIs of 3, 6, 9 and 12 month period, at the time of booking itself. With rising smartphone penetration and increased broadband and Wi-Fi access, an increasing number of Indian consumers are already using their credit cards on mobile applications and websites to make online purchases via EMIs.
The six banks with whom Jet Airways has partnered for this solution account for over one third of all credit cards issued in the country, as per RBI data, the airline said.
