Gautam Adani Becomes World’s Third Richest, Superseding Bernard Arnault

Having the wealth of $137.4 billion, Gautam Adani surpassed Bill Gates, Bernard Arnault to trail behind Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk in the ranking.

The man hardly heard by few about outside India, today this Indian businessman initially tried his luck as a diamond trader before focusing on coal, is now the world’s third-richest individual.

With a huge fortune of $137.4 billion, Gautam Adani superseded France’s Bernard Arnault and Bill Gates. Adani became the first Indian and Asian to rise in to the top three of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

This 60-year-old business baron has been expanding his coal-to-ports conglomerate, venturing into everything from data centres to alumina, media, and cement.

The Adani Group owns India’s biggest private-sector port and airport operator, coal miner and city-gas distributor.

The group’s Carmichael mine in Australia pledged in November to invest $70 billion in Green energy to become the world’s biggest producer of renewable energy.

It was said, Gautam Adani added $60.9 billion in his wealth in year 2022 itself, which is five-times higher than anybody.  In February Gautam overtook Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani in April and the superseded Microsoft Corporation’s Bill Gates respectively.
