With the increase in covid-19 vaccination drives, many organizations are asking the concerned authorities whether the process of resuming the work from office can begin. However, large companies are setting an example by accepting ‘hybrid’ workplace as an ideal solution moving forward.
A LinkedIn post by Unilever CHRO set the tone of this trend. On the post, she said that the pandemic has definitely brought us tremendous sadness and hardships. However, it has also brought flexibility to businesses and people. She added that it would be quite difficult for many to return to a regular routine- 40 hour weeks, long commutes.
As per Nair, businesses can change for the better and Unilever is already practicing flexible and agile working policies and is also going to embrace even more. The company is still developing its plans, but believes that things will never go back to what they were before 2020.
PepsiCo also recently announced its new workplace policy under ‘Work that Works’. Under this policy, employees will not have any default day-to-day workplace in headquarter locations. Associates and managers can also decide what work can be doe remotely and what has to be done from office.
