February 8, 2019 -The FoSTaC Training Programme which started in the year 2017 by FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) has made the news this February. It has now 1,00,568 FSS (Food Safety Supervisor) across India by conducting 3692 training sessions.
FoSTaC training was initiated by the apex body with a motive to establish uniform standards of food safety practices for all types of food businesses. FSSAI initially launched the TOT – Train the Trainer Programme which included FSSAI officials training the Trainers of different Food Safety Training Organizations in different courses. These FoSTaC training partners were then certified to conduct these training PAN-India.
With 17 courses across the levels, FoSTaC has an outstanding network PAN-India comprising 169 partners and over 1500 empanelled master trainers, who conduct training programmes across three levels of courses (basic, advanced and special). This Programme has made mandatory to have at least one FSS for every 25 food handlers in each of their premises.
