Flipkart Launches Sell-Back Scheme for Old Smartphones

Flipkart, a Walmart-owned online shopping platform, has launched a sell-back scheme for its users. It will allow users to sell their old smartphones of any brand.

The scheme will help reduce the amount of e-waste that is generated by old unused smartphones and other gadgets. For its initial stage, Flipkart will be allowing the sell-back of old smartphones only. The company says that the scheme will be expanded to other electronic gadgets later.

The sell-back program was launched after Flipkart acquired the electronic re-commerce firm Yaantra. The program is now live on the Flipkart app.

The program will be available across 1,700 pin codes of Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, and others. Users who will be selling back their old devices will receive the right buy-back value in the form of a Flipkart Electronic Gift Voucher.
