The Future of the Legal Consultancy Industry from Ankur’s Perspective
Post Liberalization period has been mini-revolution in the legal service sector with the greatest legal impact on corporate legal arena activities in project financing, intellectual property protection, environmental protection, competition law, corporate taxation, infrastructure contract, corporate governance and investment law Private Equity, which were almost unknown before 90’s. This discerning shift in the disposition of emerging legal sectors has led the people towards settling disputes through ADRS rather than adversarial litigation mode of dispute resolution.
Recent introduction of new laws like Insolvency & Bankruptcy code, GST, RERA etc. with an aim of ease of doing business have opened up new opportunities. “Introduction of legal services sector to foreign law firms is going to lead us into a flow of expertise in sectors where local firms and lawyers are deficiently delivering services,” says Ankur.
