With the advent of technology, the work culture has seen a drastic shift to connectivity and networking, which play a significant role in day-to-day operations. Subsequently, firms have adopted product-based networking, which can further their overall agility and efficiency.

As the work culture has changed from on-site to remote, it has encouraged work flexibility, enhancing productivity. However, the risk involved around the company, their servers, and security and protection remains a very important factor.

A pioneer in the network landscape, Lavelle Networks provides best-in-class and highly effective solutions. They not only provide safety and security but make enterprise networks agile, responsive, and efficient.

The Co-founder and CCO, Drritiman Boraah, believe that doing this will enable every customer to take their business to every location on the planet and assure customers with accelerated, secured, and simplified networks. Under Borah’s astonishing leadership, the company delivers the best enterprise network for every user, on every device, for any application, and on the cloud.

Insights on the journey

A handful of technocrats dared to traverse a path that only a few Indians have explored till now in India through the platform of Lavelle Network. There was no map in front of them to help them navigate the unknown terrain. The co-founders were bound to make their hands dirty in multiple corporate functions, both internal and external facing. However, at the leadership level, they are all determined to effortlessly work for Lavelle Network and take the company to new heights in the upcoming years.

A roadmap of the future

Based in Bangalore, Lavelle Networks is a software product company that works in the networking domain. Their specialisation lies in SDWAN technology. It is a cloud-native solution product. They help any company securely connect their branch offices to a central location, hosted either in private DC or any cloud via a wan agnostic platform. They help improve the overall network uptime, combined with improved application performance for their users. The company is aligning the product portfolio with ISP ecosystems to help their solutions reach a larger volume of customers spread across multiple segments throughout Pan India. Airtel’s investment in Lavelle Network was a significant move in that direction.

The key aspect of the Lavelle Network solution at the product level is stability and networking scale. In PSU and private BFSI segments and in leading eCommerce, the firm has been serving companies with more than 4000 PAN India scale networks. They have successfully provided 99.9999% network uptime in those large networks. Another key aspect is the speed at which this solution can be rolled out because of the zero-touch device provisioning aspect of the product. This has proved beneficial for the customers amidst operational and logistic challenges during the pandemic.

A pause but never a stop

There has been a definite slowdown regarding new customer acquisition during the initial two COVID lockdowns as they provided connectivity directly to the branch networks. But the situation has changed and is coming back to normal the wheels of the company are in motion.

Sustaining operations during the pandemic

In the initial days of the pandemic, Lavelle Networks was one of the few firms that declared work from home. All employees returned to their native much ahead of the first COVID lockdown. The company formed an internal task force, namely the Lavelle Network People Council, which was responsible for keeping constant telephonic remote touch with each employee to ensure timely assistance in medical emergencies. For instance, the task force coordinated with various agencies across India to help the employee and their families by arranging oxygen cylinders when the shortage hit during the peak pandemic timeframe.

Since its inception, the company has specialised in cloud-based solutions as they are naturally inclined to adopt cloud-based tools for all operations. Hence, the company had a lesser impact on operations due to the work from a home paradigm shift.

Aligning AI and ML

Drritiman points out that AI ML is the cutting-edge evolution. AI ML will always attract an audience with diversified opinions. One section will debate the cons of AI ML collateral on socio-economic balance as it introduces a risk of catapulting unemployment. Other sets of the audience will support AI ML from the point of view of the catapulting economy because of the enhanced manufacturing capabilities it can bring. But according to Drittiman, “the technical advancement AI ML can bring and the repeatable quality precision it can offer with machine precision is exciting for us.”

A note-worthy advice

Drritiman Borah’s advice to budding entrepreneurs is more generic and not industry-specific. According to him, a start-up venture is not a one-man army show. A start-up essentially demands a group of individuals from a diversified background who strongly believe in the cause and are determined to stick together through thick and thins. That’s what he calls is a group bound by trust and loyalty. A group that is mature enough to put the company ahead of themselves and is ready to mould themselves as per the company’s needs.

Building key Leadership

When talking about leadership, Borah believes diverse leadership backgrounds better the chances of finding smarter dynamic solutions to overcome the hurdles that the journey offers. He stresses that the start-up journey is so cruel that it often strips the leaders naked to expose their strengths and weaknesses. In a start-up where the leaders mutually agree to contribute to the company’s growth as per their strength areas and cover each other’s back for their respective weaknesses. This will often equip the budding entrepreneurs in a winning position.

Borah has compared very creatively how setting up a venture is like getting down on a battlefield to win a highly competitive war. He explains that to win a battle, one needs diversified strategies in different situations and different ideas. But once a strategy is chalked out, there must be a vital harmony in the leadership team to align their thought process in one direction.

He maintains that diversity in leadership needs to be analysed in a much broader prospect. It cannot be confined to a leader’s professional background, but cultural diversity also plays a key role. To explain this, Borah gave an example of how human civilisation has reached a pinnacle of technological and cultural advancements because each diversified race and culture brings something unique to the table.

It is applauding how 90% of customers have expanded their networks on Lavelle Networks’ solution in every quarter. As they assure the best service and quality, they remain one of the top firms in the networking industry.
