“I don’t consider myself a great astrologer as astrology is a vast subject, and I am trying my best to perfect myself daily. The more you involve in the subject, you will surprise by its capacity of prediction and solution,” says Dr. Sohini. Practicing astrology professionally was not her early intention. She was pursuing her career like any other. She completed her graduation and post-graduation from a reputed college. Because of her love for Rabindra Sangeet and classical music she educates herself in the same in her early life. “Music is the source of my energy, it helps me to keep myself fresh, relaxed. Now it has become my leisure,” Says Dr. Sohini.
Dr.Sohini has been a spiritual person from the very beginning. She was interested in occult sciences from her teenage years, although it was just a hobby to her at that time. With increasing age and knowledge of astrology, she started to feel an urge to share her knowledge with people and help those who needed spiritual guidance. “After knowing my intention, our family’s Gurudev encouraged me a lot. That is how I became a professional astrologer,” shares Dr. Sohini.
A Distinctive Journey
Once Dr. Sohini realized that she was able to help a lot of people, it gave her an incentive and an opportunity to do what she knew best – astrology. Vedic astrology is the most ancient form of astrology known to mankind. “So, it was obvious to pursue Vedic astrology and with the changes in our lifestyle, social hierarchy, and type of job, Vedic astrology was meant to have an up-gradation,” informs Dr. Sohini.
That is where KP astrology comes. KP System of astrology is based on Vedic astrology with few upgrades. The rest like Numerology, Vastu Shastra, and Color therapy, etc. are wings of astrology. “In my personal life I have been engaged in social activities from my school life,” describes Dr. Sohini.
As far as the challenges in professional life are considered, the first thing that illuminates Dr. Sohini’s mind is that people do not follow the instructions. “It is a challenge to make them understand that they need to follow every instruction to get the ultimate positive result,” conveys Dr. Sohini. “I will never deny that astrology is my profession, but it also is my life,” she adds further. Some professionals from the same field have created a negative image due to their irresponsible behavior and greed.
So, clarifying the doubts to clients is also a challenge. Apart from that, there is professional disrespect, harassing comments, the attempt of defamation are a few common challenges. “But I can say, with God’s grace and people’s love I have been able to avoid such challenges,” explains Dr. Sohini. She is not bothered by these set of negative aspects that are a part and parcel of her career.
Astrological Insights
The pandemic was unpredictable for all. It was uncertain to medical science too. Dr. Sohini has published articles where she predicted some sort of trouble waiting for mankind. “We assumed it can be political, financial, or medical. As well we have given a tentative time when it will start to recover and it has also proven to become true,” shares Dr. Sohini. She wrote in her previous article that from September-October the things will be starting to get better, and here we are now with multiple vaccine companies doing their final trial.
In terms of guidance, if one follows Vedic culture closely, they will find that all the rules and precautions are mentioned already. Like ‘namaskar’ in place of handshake to avoid touch, freshen up after entering the home or changing clothes once you get to home. Ayurvedic remedies to increase your immune system etc. Besides, a positive mindset is very necessary for this situation. “You must believe that you will overcome this phase,” educates Dr. Sohini.
With the changes in our lifestyle, social hierarchy, and job pattern Vedic astrology needed some upgrades. That is where the KP method of astrology came into the picture. The prediction and reading of KP astrology remain impeccable. “I have noticed, previously the elders and parents were the major percentages of believers. Currently, young people and teenagers are also showing their faith in astrology. So, I would say the popularity of astrology has increased over the years,” opines Dr. Sohini.
As astrology is a very ancient subject, many of its artifacts, knowledge has been lost over the years due to a flaw in information flow, proper documentation, historical events, and natural calamities. There are still several planetary combinations we are yet to understand. People like Dr. Sohini, who are involved this deep in astrology, are trying their best to recover or recreate those missing data. “I have been also trying to share my astrological knowledge in simple words through books, online articles, etc. I have already published a book on medical astrology and hoping to do more,” informs Dr. Sohini.
Dynamics of Astrology and Business
Dr. Sohini personally likes businesses over jobs. The most frequent issues she hears are education, career, and marriage related. As an astrologer, her duty is to guide people as per their stars and planets. She always has been truthful about suggesting career opportunities to clients. “I will encourage doing business only if the native’s star says so. In that case, I also guide them by predicting their best options, where they have the highest chance of getting success,” shares Dr. Sohini.
For the ones who are looking to enter the Indian astrology services space, Dr. Sohini advises them, “You must love the subject and must have the passion of serving people and society. This is a vast subject with many sub-wings, so the learning should never stop.” One must update themselves continuously. As per Dr. Sohini’s professional experience; one should always respect their fellow professional and other people who are involved in this profession.
Speaking generally, every profession has people who are responsible for negative activities, astrology has this too.
