Focused Educational Endeavours

DKTE has designed its course objectives in such a way that they specify a behaviour, skill, or action of a student which they demonstrate after they have achieved mastery of the objective. Course objectives are written in such a way that they are measurable by some sort of assessment and form the foundation of the class. Everything in the course works together and ensures that the students master the course objectives.

Learning outcomes are specific statements of what students are doing after successfully completing a learning experience (whether it’s a project, course, or program). They are written in a student-centred, measurable fashion that is concise, meaningful, and achievable.

Learning outcomes are designed at the program level— the courses have been divided into smaller units such as modules and establish learning outcomes for these smaller units that map onto the larger course-level outcomes. Generally, as the level of analysis becomes smaller, from course to module to assignment, the learning outcomes tend to be more specific and easily quantifiable.
