Human Resources

Hello and welcome to the world of HR, -Human Resources or a in simple words, people management. I Jyotsna Nath working as a Deputy Manager in Sodexo placed at Tata Motors Jamshedpur Site in Jamshedpur . which works in collaboration with multinational companies, hospitals, schools, universities are an HR based company. In today’s world where there is no end to the myriad, exciting and innumerable career opportunities in every field I believe that choosing the right career is very important for every individual. You cannot be a jack of all trades and master of none. So, it’s always better to choose your career wisely. Now the question is how to choose the right career. The first thing is what interests you?

A career can be envisioned not just when you’re studying, rather it could be envisioned practically. For instance, if a person is interested in sports and wants to become a cricketer whenever you speak to him you will realize his bent towards sports and communication will always be about sports. So, similarly it for other careers as well. During our teenage years behavior and the way, we mold ourselves as plays a vital role in become the person that you aspire to become. That is why choose what interests you. Today’s youth or that matter every has become tech savvy which in a way is could also affect the behavior of an individual. Now every opportunity comes with the baggage of it owns pros and cons attached to it. So make sure to appreciate and practice the pros and keep a close eye on the cons so that you can improve it as soon as possible in order to become a better individual.

My advice to the youth is to choose a career which not only helps you achieve monetary gains but also helps you explore and become a better individual who contributes for the well-being of the society. There is a popular saying by John F. Kennedy “Ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country”.

Hello friends, today by writing this excerpt -journal I would like to throw light on the career and role of HR – Human Resources. Firstly, it makes me feel proud to admit that the HR field is dominated by women. HR leaders play a vital role in shaping a company’s growth.HR is the face of the company. Also, I would like to share my personal experience of my life with you. My name is Jyotsna Nath, I am a citizen of India, and my hometown is Jamshedpur, I have studied in Sacred Heart Convent School Jamshedpur and further I went Amity University Gurgaon India to pursue Bachelor’s in journalism and mass communication. It was a three-year course. Further I was inspired to pursue MBA- HR which I completed at Amity University Noida. Here my interest grew in the field of HR. Then in 2018 I joined Sodexo India Service Private Limited in Jamshedpur where I am currently working as an HR head and have successfully completed five years. So, I thought to pen down my thoughts about the carer of an HR. For all students pursuing HR the main functions that you must have knowledge about are1. Human Resource planning 2. Job Analysis and design 3. Recruitment and Selection 4. Training & Development Management 5. Career development 6. Performance Management 7. Talent Acquisition 8. Labor Laws: 1. Payment of Gratuity 1972 2. Pay of Bonus Act 3. Employee Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act.4. Employee State Insurance Act 5. Contract Labor Regulation and Abolition Act, 1970 6. Payment of ages Act, 7. Minimum Wages Act .Labor Laws is a very important aspect of HR because an HR you on a day to day basis dealing with the laborers , employees any situation can arise where the company can face a crisis and the reputation of the company is at because dragging the company to the Labor Court is not at all appreciative so a company must have strong legal compliance. Industrial relations involve establishing open communication lines between management and employees .9. Rewards and Recognition: timely appreciation and recognition of the employees make them feel belonged to the company. 10. Job Role evaluation 11. Job Description 12. Attendance 14. Payroll – attendance, leaves 14. Disciplinary policies – warning letters are given to the employees for long absenteeism, behavioral issues in this they employees know they must be at their best behavior and must not be absent from work. In case they do so they must inform them in advance, in case of illness a medical certificate from the doctor must be presented to the HR .13. Employee Engagement

HR therefore must be an anchor of the ship to lead the organization to the right and progressive path by constantly motivating the employees on a day to day basis. So those aspiring to be an HR pull up your socks and enjoy the ride.
