38 years ago late Dr H M Patel, the Former Finance and Home Minister who has established this institute with the humble origin as a 136-bed facility .Now Shree Krishna Hospital, managed by the Charutar Arogya Mandal has grown to a 1000-bedded NABH accredited hospital .
The hospital has been treating more than 5, 00,000 patients for outdoor consultations and 50,000 in-patients annually . Being near the national and state highway ,nearly 40% of the patients are received through the Emergency Room. It is also considered one of the most well equipped rural health-care centres in Gujarat, with facilities such as Cardiac Centre, state-of-the-art Cancer Centre, Bone Marrow Transplant, Trauma Centre, 102 ICU beds Critical Care Centre . Also has NABL accredited Lab, NABH accredited Imaging Cenre and Blood Bank .
The State Government designated the hospital for treating Covid patients from 9th April,2020. For this a three storied separate building, the Waymade Critical Care Centre with 102 ICU beds, was earmarked exclusively for treating Covid patients in Anand district. As the pandemic rages on , the hospital has increased it’s capacity to 280 in order to meet the growing challenges and increased in number of Covid patients. Till date it has treated more than 2200 Corona virus cases ,suspected and positive, with patients coming not only from Anand but also from places like Ahmedabad and Vadodara apart from Khambhat, Nadiad and Kheda .
The hospital has been treating underprivileged(BPL) patients with no registration charges and outdoor consultation is totally free. It provides various concessions to the underprivileged through various schemes . Many Government schemes are also operational. Patients are educated for their rights and responsibilities . FGI has scrutinized all criteria and nominated for excellence award .
