The Elements of a Cold Storage
Refrigeration is one of the most important elements in cold storage and it has to be designed by experienced refrigeration experts.
Every refrigeration system generally consists of refrigeration compressors and condenser, receivers, cold diffusers, expansion system, piping, insulation, electrical power distribution system, power-saving devices, refrigerants, instrumentation, and automation where necessary.
The refrigeration compressors could be different types depending on the capacity, and the refrigerant used and the choice, like reciprocating, or hermetically sealed, or scroll, or screw compressors.
The refrigerant condensers could be either air-cooled or water-cooled, or evaporatively cooled depending mostly on the capacity of the refrigeration plant and few other parameters.
The cold diffusers in any cold room will have generally sufficient capacity and will have a cooling section, fan section and a drain section so that the throw of the fans could be enough to reach the at most product to pick up heat and maintain the room temperature.
