Basking in Q1 Results Adani Green Energy Profit Surges 51% to Rs 323 crores

After the Adani group company reported a 50.93% year-over-year (YoY) spike in net profit at Rs 323 crore for the June quarter compared with Rs 214 crore in the comparable quarter previous year, shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd will be in focus on Tuesday morning. Adani Green Energy reported that its operating revenue increased by 55.04 percent YoY to Rs 2,059 crore for the quarter compared to Rs 1,328 crore in the same quarter last year.

The Adani group company reported an Ebitda margin of 92.5%, up 70 basis points year over year, with its shares up 16% in the past month. The quarter’s cash profit increased by 55% YoY to Rs 1,051 crore.

According to Adani Green Energy, run-rate Ebitda was a healthy Rs 7,645 crore, with net debt to run-rate Ebitda at 5.3 times.

With an operational capacity of 8,316 mw, Adani Green Energy claimed to still have the largest operating renewable energy portfolio in the nation.   According to Adani Green Energy, substantial capacity expansion helped the sale of energy rise 70% YoY to 6,023 million units in the June quarter.

The solar portfolio CUF increased by 40 basis points YoY to 26.9% in the June quarter because to increasing solar irradiation and consistently high plant availability, according to Adani Green. Capacity utilisation factor is referred to as CUF.

Though the wind CUF decreased mostly because of the relatively lower wind speed, which was greater last year, the sale of energy in the case of the wind portfolio increased by 34 percent, driven by capacity addition.

The 2,140 mw solar-wind hybrid portfolio recorded a solid hybrid CUF of 47.2%, up 380 basis points, supported by new plants with cutting-edge wind and solar energy equipment, excellent plant and grid availability, and increased sun radiation.
