In a society where getting a stable job is preferred over women doing business, BARNALI SINHA, the founder of ICS INNOVATION, has fought against all odds giving everything to turn her passion into a profession.
Talking to the CMD, Barnali Sinha said, “I was always passionate about art and creativity and wanted to do something in this field, but I also knew that I was not the 9-5 kind of person. So, I had to think out of the box. What inspired me is seeing women excelling in business. So, I had to take a stand and start my own business. Breaking a stereotype is the toughest thing, especially in a country like India. But doing what makes you happy will always be fruitful in the long run.”
The company caters to a wide variety of sustainable products in fashion, home decor, kitchenware, etc. It also provides a complete range of environment-friendly packaging solutions, especially for cosmetics and perfumes. The company has a good hold in the Indian markets and is expanding into foreign markets as well. They have already exported to countries like Dubai, Qatar, Australia, the US, the UK, Spain and many more. The company has another unit that manufactures miniature architecture models.
The company has designed and crafted many miniature models for museums, govt. organisations and PSUs. It also designs replica models, scale models and props for the film industry. ICS Innovation is one of the few professional model-making companies in the Northeastern region of the country.
“It was not an easy task for me. A strong product should also get connected to an equally strong market, and this is where the actual challenge comes in. But with the proper strategy, we have been able to create a set of reputed clienteles. Apart from miniature models, we are focussing more on sustainable development through our innovation. We have introduced an initiative by the name SMART WASTE where potential wastes are being converted to eco-friendly packaging solutions.” Barnali added.
The company has been working on its R&D to create innovative and sustainable solutions where sustainable products won’t be seen as a high price high-value products but as a cost-effective alternative to products that possess potential threats to the environment.
