AMRI Hospitals is one of the leading private healthcare providers of Eastern India, with four super specialty hospitals at Dhakuria, Mukundapur, and Salt Lake, in Kolkata, and at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, along with a state-of- the-art day-care centre on Southern Avenue, Kolkata. Group CEO, Mr. Rupak Barua, a veteran in Eastern India’s healthcare sector, took up the reins of the Group in  2014. Having a post-graduate degree in marketing, he also successfully pursued MDPs from IIM Ahmedabad and IIM- Calcutta. He is the Co-Chairman, Healthcare Sub Committee of CII (Eastern Regions), and a National Industry Expert in CII’s National Skills Council, besides being an active member of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and several other industries and social bodies.

AMRI has also been investing in the latest technologies like endoscopic surgery, laser surgery, and even robotic surgery.

  1. How does the hospital intend to handle its Societal Responsibility? Please mention any special charity or program as such. 

AMRI Hospitals takes special efforts to fulfil its social responsibility by conducting free health check-up camps across Eastern India for various age and income groups. Recently, on World AIDS Day, the group conducted a free HIV test camp for sex workers at a red-light district in Kolkata. The Group hospitals have also been investing heavily in spreading awareness on various diseases like cardiac problems, diabetes, kidney ailments, etc.

  1. How is the hospital utilizing technology for hospital management?

The hospital group has put in place several measures that will help it sail into the coming decades, where healthcare will be more focused on technology. While the Group has already set a deadline of 2022 to turn the whole process of patient registration, discharge, and prescriptions paperless, internally, too, constant changes are being made to make the systems and processes smoother and free of human errors.

AMRI Hospitals, through its various tie-ups with external agencies, are working on making home healthcare service an important feature, offering personalized care and services to patients, particularly the elderly.
