Facebook has announced that it is expanding its fact-checking programme to include individuals from Pages, Groups, Instagram accounts, and domains, as it expands its fact-checking programme to include individuals from Pages, Groups, Instagram accounts, and domains.

The new ban applies to inaccurate or misleading content regarding Covid-19 and vaccinations, climate change, elections, and other topics, according to a statement released late Wednesday by the social network, so that fewer people read disinformation on its family apps.

“We’re reducing the distribution of all posts from an individual’s Facebook account in News Feed starting today if they share content that has been graded by one of our fact-checking partners several times. If a single post has been discredited, we already decrease its reach in News Feed “Facebook was notified.

When consumers share content that is later rated by a fact-checker, the company tells them.

Facebook has now changed these notifications to make it clearer when something like this occurs.

The fact-article checker’s debunking the allegation is included in the notification, as well as a request to share the article with their followers.

“It also contains a warning that those who consistently share incorrect information may have their posts placed lower in News Feed, making it less likely that other people will see them,” the social network added.

In late 2016, the business began its fact-checking programme.

“We’ve taken tougher action against misinformation-spreading Pages, Groups, Instagram accounts, and websites,” the company said. “Now, we’re broadening some of these efforts to include penalties for individual Facebook accounts as well.”
