Aditi Umesh: The Genesis of Perpetual Purity and Beyond

In the quest for perfect health, the optimistic fusion of biology and science paved the way for modern healthcare. Continuous research and development in this arena furthered the cause of the pharmaceutical industry.

The modern pharma sector has proven its worth by assisting immensely in battling the ongoing healthcare crisis. As we rediscovered the importance of healthy life, futuristic healthcare is in the pursuit of purity.

The path is long and full of unforeseen challenges. Yet, an eternal source of universal energy personified in the form of Aditi Umesh has taken it upon herself to follow the way and has already taken her first few steps as the CEO of Azaleos Biosciences Pvt Ltd to become the genesis of perpetual purity and go beyond the established norms.

Turning a Legendary Vision into a Legacy

The foundation of Azaleos Biosciences started with a dream of a Doctor–Dr Umesh D–wanting to venture out into the Pharmaceutical field to make the rare of the rare set products accessible to the people. The dream is to change the lives of the people under critical care and hence moving toward achieving the goal of Make in India.

The company’s vision is to retouch the lives of millions of people with Purity as to what the company and its logo stand for. And making affordable APIs in India and formulations that benefit the common people.

This new idea of enabling the client to walk unreservedly through the passageways and examine items they were keen on before obtaining them before long turned out to be exceptionally well known, as it was significantly more alluring than the standard over-the-counter strategy for deals. Aditi comments, “To date, our organization is available to new thoughts and always takes a gander at enhancing administrations to strengthen the sentiment of prosperity.”

Advancing Pharma through Azaleos Biosciences

Azaleos Biosciences’ underlying foundations in Bangalore started in 2019 when a goal-oriented 23-year-old Aditi made her father, Dr Umesh D’s dream, into a vision. The youthful ‘Aditi Umesh’ could have just imagined that some time or another, her father’s legacy could be made with a little dream that he dreamed.

With the Background of her parents, Dr Umesh D and Dr Mamatha K, who have their own excellence in their respective medical fields, began the entrepreneurial journey to deliver the critical care APIs and Advanced intermediates to cater to India’s needs.

This is not the first startup that Aditi was into. She also has another two companies under her, while Azaleos is the third venture. “Azaleos Biosciences Pvt Limited is something that is very dear to me,” says Aditi.

Defeating the Adversities

Regarding the challenges Aditi had to surmount to ensure Azaleos’ success rate reached greater heights, she says that Pharma is very different from other businesses.

There is a saying that to enter the pharmaceutical sector; a godfather is a must, akin to a clique. It is not very easy to enter this segment.

Either there is a huge investment that is required, and you need to incubate that money for some years to reach out to some outcome.

Initially, it really felt like a dream. Everybody around Aditi told her that getting into business is not a woman’s job. So she should just quit, get a government job, and have a safe, risk-free life. However, there is no plan B for passion, “Is there?” asks Aditi.

Beating the Odds

At first, she was wearing all the hats of a business, which was daunting. Just because you’re an entrepreneur and starting a business doesn’t necessarily mean you excel in all areas. You assume many roles as a new business owner, including sales and marketing, accounting, IT, and innovation.

So the first rule of any business is don’t try to do everything by yourself. You might be extraordinarily talented and might excel in all the fields. Yet let the other do it for you so that you can think of the 20 years path ahead for your business.

One of the biggest challenges you face upon starting a business is figuring out how to fund the endeavour. Not every business requires a large investment from the get-go, but pharma does. “We tested this theory of testing out our products under our own brand name of AZALEOS in the field first and then headed towards coming up with a plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka,” informs Aditi.

Reorganizing the Goals

She always ignored how important it was to stay organized. This is something that She has learnt from her father that staying organized and listing out the tasks to be done for the day will surely tell you the future of the business. Being off track and disorganized is not only bad for your mental and physical health–it takes a toll on our productivity.

Changing her habits, Aditi says, “We started by writing down and defining our tasks and goals for each day.” Tasks are things you do to keep your business running day to day. Goals are the longer-term achievements that you need for your business’s growth and success, such as sales, marketing, and expansion plans.

Resonating with Transparency

Talking about the professional values and qualities admired by her clients in Azaleos, Aditi says that one thing that they as a team have observed in pharma is that there is a lot of lag or delay in information passing or communication. Everybody is so secretive. They do not let out any information regarding anything as they fear their process might be copied.

So, to change the trend, at Azaleos, they are very responsive as a team and also trying to get a technology that reduces the lead time to manufacture any product. So that they can cater towards fast deliverables, another major concern of this industrial sector.

“We want to help businesses of all sizes in the sector, be it a small retail vendor to the biggest tycoons in the industry. We treat all of them equally. And we do not prioritize based on your size or capacity and treat all our clients on an equal scale basis,” mentions Aditi.

Aditi further says that Azaleos Brand USP is ‘Always deliver more than expected.’ It is a rule that they follow in the organization. Michael LeBoeuf was truly right when he quoted, ‘A satisfied customer is the best business strategy of all.’ “At Azaleos, we believe in it completely and are doing it from the beginning,” shares Aditi.

A Distinctive Advice

As an experienced professional, Aditi’s advice to the budding aspirants willing to enter the pharma world is reformative. She says her definition of an Entrepreneur is: somebody who sacrifices his comfort to provide comfort to hundreds of families. “Growing up with a lot of criticism, I had complete support from my family, which became one of my biggest strengths. They are the whole and sole backbone of what I have grown into today,” believes Aditi.

As of now, She is a young entrepreneur who’s just 25 years old, yet to discover a lot that is to happen. But one thumb rule Aditi always follows is, ‘Never start a business just to make money; start a business to make a difference.’

Forwarding the Make in India Cause

Regarding the future, Aditi reflects, “We are already into the formulations of drugs. Where I envision the company to be in the next five years is to be in the IPO listing.” And become a house name brand for all of the pharmaceutical molecules.

Aditi concludes by saying that they, as a leading pharmaceutical company, want to achieve a 100% Make in India goal and absolutely stop the imports from China and help contribute to the Indian economy.
