Sanal Kumar Saseendra Nathan: Building People Who Build Business

While pursuing an undergraduate course, Sanal came across a quote by Mr Hillary Hinton Ziglar, “You don’t build a business – you build people – and then people build your business.” And that is when he started probing deeper into Human Resources as a profession. And the value that an able HR can add to an organization’s growth and an employee’s career.

The opportunity of interacting with people, knowing them and their strengths-weaknesses, and assisting them in leveraging their potential to create a win-win situation for both the employee and the organization – seemed challenging and compelling!

After completing of Master in Business Administration (HR) from Amity University Haryana, he was selected through a campus placement drive by SANDHAR Technologies Limited. On 15th June 2016, Sanal Joined SANDHAR as a Management Trainee in the Humane Relations department. Currently, he’s associated with Winnercom SANDHAR –Joint Venture between Winnercom, Korea and SANDHAR. As Assistant Manager HR, responsible for leading Unit HR, IR and Administration Functions.

During the initial six months of his training, Sanal observed company practices, learned HR policies and procedures and assisted in routine HR activities at the Factory level. Following this, he was allowed to handle Payroll, Contractual Manpower Management, PMS and Training (Associates) and Plant Admin Activities of the Aluminium Die Casting Unit wherein about 400 contractual associates had been deployed.

After completing his training period (one year), Sanal was tasked to handle the entire Unit HR/IR and Admin functions of a Plastic Injection Moulding Unit located in Bawal, Haryana. He managed Recruitment, Payroll, PMS (Staff and Associates), Training and Development Programs, Employee Engagement Initiatives, Manpower Management, HRMIS and Compliance. Associated with the unit for three-and-a-half years, initially handling HR, IR and Admin Functions independently to leading and developing the HR, IR and Admin team of four. 

In 2022, Sanal was transferred to the state-of-the-art and future-ready unit of SANDHAR located at Pathredi. They had Assembly (4W Door Handles, Locks and Keysets), Robotic Paintshop, Magnesium Die Casting and Surface Mount Technology process.

With every new assignment came the bigger challenge of learning new processes and adapting his working style to the new workforce and factory dynamics. Thankfully with the kind of training and guidance he has, Sanal got himself acclimatized faster and handled the responsibilities with utmost dedication.

Sanal always aims to organize targeted HR initiatives. By ensuring every employee is provided with a healthy and nurturing environment. Where they feel secure and cared for. So that they could push their limits and outperform themselves.
