Karthika S Nair: Winning Hearts and Minds of People

As an HR Professional, Karthika S Nair believes that HR is one group where people feel connected and can share their concerns on the personal and professional front. 

Fulfilling as the Voice of Employee, the role of an HR is all about ensuring people are enjoying their job, experiencing their worth and making sure they are getting all the infrastructure and facilities to make them productive, which starts from identifying the gaps in HR Policies, rectifying it, if required frame new policies, implementing the same. 

She also believes that she is more efficient as a team player than much or more than being an individual contributor because HR is incomplete without people. Karthika has five-plus years of experience as an HR professional and is currently working with Blue Star Limited and was associated with Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd before.

According to Karthika, Blue Star is known as a People-Driven Organization and pays greater attention to Creative employee engagement, which in turn helps drive better business results and a way of thinking, People Success. Two major policies rolled out in September’22 on Workplace Flexibility, and Women Staff Support Measures were Karthika was also part of was an organizational shift. She thanks Blue Star because this organization is a place for Young HR Minds! 

The agenda Karthika and her HR team of Blue Star have taken for FY23 is to Win the Hearts and Minds of their People. Being a member of two cross-functional teams, which were formulated with an idea to improve the work-life balance of employees, she feels it has been such an honour to be part of such groups because the efforts made to understand the current scenario, scrutinizing the problem statement, identifying the best practices finally pave light to the implementation of New Policies. 

Being a team player is relevant, believes Karthika, and she says her achievements are not only hers; they are the achievements of the great minds who believed in her.

• Achiever Award Winner-Q3 FY23 for bagging the highest Internal Customer Satisfaction Survey and design score, making the DIY HR module live in the Employee portal. Nominated for the HR Trailblazer award in Blue Star for FY22. 

• Idealization of new joiner on-boarding kit in Blue Star which came into implementation from April 2022.

• Recognized as Poster Girl in HR Operations & Compliance Meet 2022 – Blue Star Limited

• The region with the highest and most Innovative Employee Engagement Activities’2020 – Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.

• Design & development of Reliance Jio’s new hire on-boarding program Jio Shubharambh in October’2019

• Outstanding Performer in Jio Young HR Leader Program’2019 – Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.

• Star Performer of the Quarter 2018 – Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd
