We have a moment to rejoice as Indian weightlifter Achinta Sheuli won gold in the mens’s 73kgs final round including a record 143k in snatch category in the Commonwealth games going on in Birmingham on the third day. This increased Indian medal tally to three golds, Two silvers and One bronze respectively.
Jeremy Lalrinnunga topped the podium in men’s 67kg weightlifting event as he won India’s second gold medal of the Games in Birmingham. The Indian men’s hockey team opened its campaign for the prestigious CWG gold with a 11-0 win over lowly Ghana. World champion Nikhat Zareen began her quest with a win in the boxing ring.
