Star Link Communication Pvt Ltd: An Epitome of Indian Tech Self-Sustenance

Amar Gaur - CEO | Star Link Communication Pvt Ltd

Incredible India, Incredible Indians!

Globally, whenever people say the word incredible, it seems incomplete without the word India leading it ahead. There is a reason behind it. India is a land which has discovered the metric numbering system used all over the world today along with many mathematical geniuses including Aryabhatta and Ramanujan to name a few. Presently, Silicon Valley is full of Indian technological geniuses from Ajay Bhatt, father of the USB standard to Sabir Bhatia, inventor of Hotmail, to Sundar Pichai, Google CEO.

And there are technological geniuses abound at home. This is one of the incredible stories of an incredible Indian technological genius Mr Vipin Yadav, the Managing Director and the Man behind Star Link Communication Pvt Ltd. It is his truly an awe-inspiring journey from creating an audio amplifier as a child to selling AI/ML-powered tech products, today.

At an age when children are busy filling up their free time with outdoor games and other fun activities, Vipin had already found his passion: Electronics. He was often found experimenting with wires and tools for repairing things at his home town in (U.P) Jhansi, creating new tools, or dismantling a working machine to learn the internal dynamics! When in standard eighth he had already created an audio amplifier and a ham radio among other machines.

At a time when the internet was not at ready disposal for seeking information or DIY videos, Vipin relied on books, magazines, and some friends with mutual interests to seek guidance. He had already projected a linear road to success for himself, getting an engineering degree in electronics and using the knowledge to create user-centric products.

This perfect plan, however, saw a halt when Vipin was unable to clear engineering entrance exams and given their financial condition at home it was impossible to take admission to a private university. He then went on to complete his B.Sc. but his passion for engineering still lingered in him. So three years after completing his B.Sc. he finally was able to secure funds and got enrolled in an Electronics Engineering degree in a Private college in Pune.

A Rising Star on the Horizon

Post successful completion of his degree, Vipin got hired by a Delhi based PCO company in their R&D department. His creativity was now able to find an outlet but his dream of building something of his own was still finding a road to success. While working in the R&D team he was able to find a gap in the market and decided to take a plunge, so after five years of working, in 1996 he quit the job to start his business.

Vipin put in all his life savings into the business and developed a solution which helped a common man with a landline connection to make an STD call, eliminating the need to visit the PCO shop, a revolution indeed. They were the first ones in India to make this and were recognized by the Department of Telecom in 1998.

Vipin began making the machine at his 2 BHK with two other family members and within a few months, he was creating close to 1500-2000 pieces per month. These three family members played all the roles from procuring materials to manufacturing and delivering the final product. At a time when digital marketing and the web were not in use, their products were speaking for them, and word of mouth alone helped them in securing PAN India clients.

Shining Over the Moon

However, technology was evolving at a breakneck speed, soon mobile phones came in and acted as a threat to their entire business. Since their mission was to create solutions that were user-centric they were already prepared with the next high-tech product, a paperless attendance solution. Their biometric attendance system was an instant hit and major brands across industries like Maruti, Haldirams, and Yamaha among many others partnered with them.

Within five years of the product launch, they were able to install 10000+ machines. In 2016 Vipin and his team launched a facial recognition based attendance system which was soon adopted by their clients and played a crucial role in contactless attendance in the COVID times.

All Star Link Communication’s high-tech solutions are today manufactured from scratch in India, boosting the mission of Made in India products. The Star Link team is constantly working on creating technology-based solutions that have user-centricity at their core. Today, Star Link employs 120+ people and manufactures a range of 13 products which are sold to 8000+ corporate clients across India.

From being unable to pass the engineering entrance exam to now creating world-class, made in India tech products and travelling the world to learn more about technology, Vipin realized his passion. It is his passion and dedication alone that made his dream come true. He and his company still strive every day to create the best solutions for their clients and keep the zeal running for innovation. They are on a mission to take Made in India tech products to the world stage and will not stop until the dream is realized.

Star Link first entered the Telecom Industry Market in 1996, when its Managing Director, Vipin Yadav, devised the Call Conferencing hypothesis. Vipin’s hypothesis was not only a thought; it was completed as the primary Conference Calling Equipment to be endorsed by the Indian Government. His creative demeanour and specialized methodology drove Star Link to build up achievements with biometrics and access control frameworks and cater for the country with attendance arrangements.

Gentrifying the Dream

Mr Yadav’s glimmer of vision drove him to shape Star Link Communication Pvt. Ltd. as an organization firm in 1996, which later turned into a Pvt. Ltd. in 1998. Afterwards, Star Link Communication arose as an association that had created the primary Call Conferencing Equipment, which ends up being India’s most critical solution. In 1998, the Telecom Department of India approved this gear.

Star Link Communication worked determinedly to accomplish a specialized forward leap, and their group contrived one more creation: India’s first GSM-empowered STD/PCO device. Star Link’s disclosures were critical to the nation’s development, and they likewise ended up introducing an upheaval in the telecommunication industry when STD, PCO, and Landline were the lone quick methods of correspondence.

Entering the Biometric World

Star Link advanced from concocting organizing instruments to creating and assembling Biometric Attendance and Access Control Systems as the 21st century advanced. Star Link Communication installed attendance machine at Maruti Suzuki in 2005.

By 2006, the business had developed and acquired a foothold, and delivered the primary finger-based attendance machine. The credit goes to its in-house Research and Development team, who worked eagerly to address their clients’ issues. Star Link Communication Pvt. Ltd. has a global online distribution and service network.
