170 MSME bodies come together at AICA to tackle post-covid issues

All India Council of Association

The All India Council of Association (AICA) of MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) has recently announced that 170 industry associations have joined hands to tackle the various post-covid problems faced by two lakh MSMEs across India. MSMEs in India contribute to almost 30% of the overall employment generation in India. They also provide a 30% addition to the overall GDP of the country.

As per Vijay Beriwal, the executive member of AICA, stated that the pandemic has negatively impacted every industry in the country, and MSMEs have faced the worst situation due to frequent lockdowns. They have faced tremendous challenges in the form of raw material prices and manpower shortages.

Mr. Vijay added that AICA has been working towards combining these associations under one umbrella since the imposition of the first lockdown by the government of India. They have succeeded to bring 170 industry associations under one roof across the country. AICA has started consulting with every association so that it can bring out and deal with various challenges faced by MSMEs from different sectors.

Mr. Vijay also stated that last year, the center had auctioned iron ore mines worth 110 million tonne annual production last year. However, out of them only 50% are operational, while the rest are shut.
