What Spanish artist Salvador Dali said this almost a century ago, has been a reality of today’s designers. The designers and professional artists have been living the era of perfection where clients demand designs and drafts to be of utmost details and unique from the competitors. As a result, designers have to rework with constantly changing requirement from the clients.
This has been one of the biggest challenges for MEP consultancies – lot of rework in projects that leads to delay in reaching milestones. Taking on this challenge Bangalore-based MEP consultancy firm QDC India Consulting Pvt. Ltd. has been dedicatedly working towards meeting client deadlines without affecting the quality work. How did QDC India manage to do this?
In an interview with C.S Nambisan, Dattatreya Bhat, Dominic Chandran, Vimal Kumar, and Jayakumar, the dynamic leaders of QDC India shared their design philosophy of ‘Patience in Concept’ and ‘Impatience in detailing’ to tackle the challenges in MEP consultancy space. “We work on a design philosophy of” they said, “We have developed a detailed questionnaire for all the MEP domains for different type of projects. It encompasses all the aspects in every project and hence all the aspects are thought thorough in the initial phase right from design efficiency, life cycle costs, and maintainability.”
This improvised approach is a fruition of the experienced and expert senior team at QDC. Read the below interview excerpt to know more about how skilled team and expert seniors together have established QDC India as a renowned name in the MEP consultancy market.

QDC India is marching forward with a belief of becoming the ‘Preferred Engineering Consultancy Partner’ to its clients. The company also aims to incorporate fast-paced technological advancements to innovatively increase the efficiency and quality of the work.
An organization’s true growth is when it creates an opportunity for employees to grow with it. QDC India has put its clients as well as employees at the core of its future goals. Besides being a ‘trusted partner’ to its clients, the organization wants for its employees to feel they belong in and with QDC India.
Passing on the wisdom
A true leadership does not only think about the future, it creates the future. And for the aspiring entrepreneurs dreaming of entering the MEP consultancy space, the leaders of QDC India have a wisdom to pass on – advice they received from one of the reputed Electrical engineers in their early entrepreneurial days. The advice was, “Do not start a consultancy unless you have at least 20 years of experience Principal to head.”
Over the time, the five gems of QDC India C. S. Nambisan, Dominic Chandran, Dattatreya Bhat, Vimal Kumar, and Jayakumar have realized the power of this advice enough to firmly believe in and pass it on as words of wisdom. They also have something to share from own experience, “Building an organization requires more than technical knowledge; it is better to create a team of like-minded people with expertise in all the Technical domains and HR, Marketing, and Finance. Only when all functional units such as Delivery, Marketing, HR, Finance work aan organization, then the organization can deliver on its promise to its clients.”
