IBM starts a new cloud data center in Peru

0n August 22nd, IBM Peru announced the opening of a new data center at the Technology Campus of La Molina, it is built to come up with an increasing demand for IT services in Peru, especially in the areas such as cloud computing and Big Data analytics. This data center will be one of the country’s most scalable, flexible & energy efficient data centers, contributing to the competitiveness and productivity of organizations in Peru.
The US $8 million data center will help the local companies transform their front office business operations and it will be also beneficial to them by significant efficiencies through cloud computing & Big Data analytics.
Ricardo Fernandez, IBM Peru General Manager said,”Our extensive experience in data centers offers private and public institutions in Peru new ways to innovate, build smarter systems and gain competitive advantages that contribute to their business growth & sustainability.”
In addition to the existing data center at the Technology Campus of La Molina and another in the district of San Isidro in Lima, It is the third IBM facility in the country.
Rodolfo Armellini, IBM Peru Global Technology Services Manager said, “IBM has heavily invested in strengthening its processes, tools, analytic capabilities & skills, which are key to ensure excellence in the delivery of IT services to our customers.”
IBM has made investments of multi-million-dollar in Latin America since 2009. It has opened 9 IT Services Centers in Brazil, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Peru & Uruguay, which provides 24/7 services. IBM has more than 400 data centers globally.
